On the start of my journey as an independent iOS Developer, I played around with many ideas that I have always wanted to try. For my first app, I wanted to create an app that was useful and that would drive me to gain exposure to some of Apple’s frameworks like UICollectionView, CoreData, and UNUserNotificationCenter.
One of my goals for the year was to read the Bible more. As I was doing this, I noticed that the Word just wasn’t around me much. As I looked at all the notifications on my phone, there was one notification for the Verse of the Day from YouVersion’s Bible app but that was it. A lot of notifications from ESPN, Instagram, Twitter, Amazon, email, but nothing that pushed me to get in that Word.
So I thought I could add Bible verses into my daily mix of notifications to keep this goal of mine on the front burner. Then I thought it would also be great if I got a verse to encourage me in the time of need or something that would oblige me to read more and get a better context or the full message of a single verse. Even better, it might help me to resist one of the many daily temptations, it can get rough out here! 😣
So that’s the heart and origin of GodTalk, hopefully people see the same benefit of it as I do. 🙏🏾
I’m excited for the roadmap I have for GodTalk, which includes more features that I will work on in between getting out more apps and ideas.
It was all a dream…
